Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about how Amber tracks habits. Still stuck? Contact support.
What is Amber?
+
Amber is an iOS habit accountability app. Every goal grows a unique 3D gem. Check in daily with a photo, get verified by a referee or AI, and watch the gem cut from Coal to Atomic. The gem only grows — missing a day does not take it backwards.
Is Amber available on Android?
+
Not yet. Amber is iOS-only for launch. Join from the App Store on iPhone.
How do gems work?
+
Creating a goal generates a unique gem. Approved check-ins grow it through stages: Coal → Forming → Formed → Radiant → Atomic. Missed days do not roll the stone back. A long streak of showing up can reach Atomic.
What happens if I miss a day?
+
It depends on whether that miss is covered. One staked token covers one missed window of that habit — a day, a week, or a month, matching how often the habit runs. A covered miss spends the token and nothing else: the gem stays as it is and the streak pauses rather than resetting. If you have no coverage left, the streak restarts — the gem does not lose the cuts you already earned. A check-in your referee denies is treated as a skip: it costs nothing and uses no coverage.
What is a referee?
+
A friend you invite to verify your photo check-ins. If you don’t have a referee yet, AI can cover verification in self-paced mode until someone joins.
What does Amber Pro unlock?
+
Amber Pro is optional. Free users get a weekly token grant that tops the wallet up to a cap. Pro adds a bonus on top of the base grant — 20 tokens a week today instead of 10 — and removes the wallet cap so tokens can stack, which is useful if you stake often. Grant sizes can change over time. Core accountability features stay available without Pro.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
+
Manage or cancel Amber Pro in your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us directly.
How do I delete my account?
+
In the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, habits, gems, evidence photos, and avatar. You can also email support@amberhabit.app if you need help.
Is Amber medical advice?
+
No. Amber is a habit tool, not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. If you need emergency help, contact local emergency services.
